Ger Sheehy is a professional dog trainer based in Co. Limerick. Ger has a passion for dogs and started working with dogs over 10 years ago. Ger gained a lot of experience in understanding dog (pack) behaviour by working in kennels with over 100 foxhounds (see picture). Ger uses dog psychology and positive reinforcement as his training method. Dogs are social animals that live in packs and they instinctively follow calm, dominant leaders. In a domesticated dog world, you and your family are your dog’s pack. The lack of proper canine leadership is one of the major reasons why most dog training fails to produce long-term results. With Ger’s approach, obedience training becomes a natural part of behaviour that your dog will understand and enjoy. Ger will also use his own dogs (2 German Shepherds and 2 Irish Wolfhounds) in the training process. Ger will keep your dog for 14 days and will work with him/her every day. On the day you collect your dog, Ger will show you what your dog has achieved and will also teach you how to become the “pack leader”. If leaving your dog with Ger for 14 days is not an option, you can also book a one hour consultation. In this hour Ger will assess your dog and show you how to train your dog and how to correct any unwanted behaviour. You can book further consultations if needed. Ger is certified and references are available.
